Why did Zipwhip shut down?

Zipwhip announced that it would be shutting down after the text messaging company was acquired by Twilio in July 2021. To give its customers time to find an alternative texting platform, Zipwhip scheduled its shutdown date for December 1, 2023. (This is an extension from Zipwhip’s original sunset date of December 1, 2022.) Given Zipwhip’s status, companies using the platform need to find a new text messaging provider by the end of the year so they can text their customers without interruption.

The good news is that Twilio has recommended Heymarket as a preferred Zipwhip alternative. Heymarket has all of the functionality Zipwhip customers rely on, plus advanced features to help you grow your text messaging strategy.

You can transfer contacts (including their phone numbers), opted out and in lists, groups (which turn into Heymarket Lists), templates, and users. While you transition from Zipwhip to Heymarket, your team will be able to continue texting customers without disruption.

Yes. Heymarket will port over your current business line. All customer chats will transition over too, so you can pick up right where you left off.
